Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and friendly Hostess Cashier to join our dynamic restaurant team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently managing reservations and seating arrangements. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage their seating preferences to ensure a positive first impression. Handle restaurant reservations accurately using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Maintain an organized waiting list and communicate wait times clearly via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. Assist guests with inquiries about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies through clear and friendly communication. Operate POS systems to process customer payments efficiently and accurately, including cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods. Coordinate with the kitchen and wait staff to optimize table turnover and guest flow, ensuring timely service delivery. Uphold food safety standards and sanitation protocols in all guest interactions and operational procedures. Skills Proven experience as a host/hostess or cashier in a restaurant setting, with strong guest relations skills. Knowledge of restaurant reservation management and familiarity with restaurant table management systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS. Excellent communication skills, including phone communication and etiquette, to effectively interact with guests and team members. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and balancing registers accurately. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests simultaneously. Food service experience is preferred to better understand restaurant operations and guest expectations. A solid understanding of hospitality principles, guest services, food safety standards, and POS systems to ensure smooth operations.
