Host (the first and last impression) Wedgewood Cheese Bar - Carrboro, NC Part-time | $18-$25/hr (tips included) Wedgewood is a busy cheese + wine bar with a packed dining room, active bar, and a strong events program—classes, tastings, wine dinners, and more. We're looking for a host who can run the door, manage the flow, and set the tone from the moment guests walk in. This is not just "checking people in." You control the room. What you'll do: Greet guests and manage the door with warmth and confidence Handle waitlists, reservations, and walk-ins without losing the thread Control the pace of seating to support the floor Communicate constantly with servers, kitchen, and management Help reset tables and turn the room efficiently Support events and higher-volume service days You're probably a fit if you: Are naturally organized and good under pressure Can talk to anyone (and keep things calm when there's a wait) Have strong awareness—you see what's happening in the room Are reliable and consistent Have some hospitality experience (preferred, not required) What you get $18-$25/hr all-in (base + tip pool) A fast-paced, team-oriented environment Exposure to service, wine, and events A role that can grow into serving or leadership if you want it Schedule Must be available evenings + weekends Sundays for events and special programming Part-time with potential for more hours
