The ideal candidate is someone who is known for smiling, being upbeat, and maintaining a pleasant and welcoming demeanor even when things become busy or don't go according to plan. This is an important customer-facing position. Our Party Host is often one of the people families remember most about their experience at Play Dates Academy. We are looking for someone who takes pride in making every family feel welcomed, celebrated, and well cared for. The right candidate will be naturally engaging and comfortable interacting with children, parents, grandparents, and other guests. You should enjoy starting conversations, getting to know families, checking on guests throughout their visit, and creating an atmosphere that is fun, warm, and inviting. Warmly greeting birthday families and guests Introducing yourself to the family you will be hosting and building a positive connection with them Engaging with the birthday child, parents, and guests throughout the celebration Hosting parties in an upbeat, organized, and enthusiastic manner Helping the birthday child feel special and celebrated Checking on families regularly to ensure they have everything they need Anticipating guest needs rather than waiting for someone to ask for assistance Assisting with party setup, serving, transitions, and cleanup Maintaining clean, organized, and guest-ready party areas Helping create a fun and energetic atmosphere Providing attentive and exceptional customer service Supporting other team members as needed Assisting with general Play Dates Academy operations during non-party shifts Customer Service Expectations Exceptional customer service is a major part of this position. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys serving others and understands that the small details can make a big difference in a family's experience. If a parent has their hands full, offer to help. If a guest appears to need something, check on them. If a teammate needs assistance, step in. If something needs attention, take initiative. Our goal is for families to leave Play Dates Academy remembering not only how much fun their child had, but also how well they were treated by our team. Personality Matters Experience is valuable, but for this particular position, personality, attitude, and engagement are extremely important. We are looking for someone who is naturally upbeat and has the type of personality others describe as cheerful, bubbly, and positive. You should be able to maintain a smile and welcoming presence even when the environment is busy, plans change, or unexpected situations arise. You do not need to be the loudest person in the room, but you must be comfortable engaging with people. This is not a position for someone who prefers to remain in the background with limited guest interaction. Play Dates Academy is a playful environment, so we also need someone who is willing to have fun. At times, that may mean dressing up, participating in a theme, playing along with children, or simply being willing to embrace the silliness of the moment. Schedule & Availability This is a
FULL-TIME
position. Weekend availability is required. The selected candidate must be available to work every weekend , as hosting parties is a primary responsibility of this position. The candidate must also be available to work several weekday closing shifts as part of their regular full-time schedule. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. Our families reserve celebrations in advance, and our team must be able to depend on the Party Host to be present, prepared, and ready to provide an excellent experience. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful but not necessarily required: Customer service Hospitality Childcare Children's entertainment Birthday party hosting Recreation or family entertainment Restaurants or food service Camps or youth programs Other fast-paced, customer-facing environments For the right candidate, attitude, personality, reliability, initiative, and the ability to connect with families may be just as important as previous experience.
