Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Shelter Host to provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for individuals experiencing homelessness. In this vital role, you will oversee overnight shelter operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests while fostering a respectful and inclusive community. Your compassionate approach, combined with strong organizational skills, will help guests feel secure and supported during their stay. Duties Supervise overnight shelter operations, ensuring safety protocols are followed and guests adhere to house rules Provide crisis intervention and conflict management to de-escalate tense situations effectively Assist guests with intake procedures and orientation. Maintain guest confidentiality while documenting incidents, case notes, and data entry accurately Monitor smoke breaks, keeping track of guests and visitors at all times, keeping the spaces respected and clean, follow schedules Conduct security checks, manual handling, and ensure the physical safety of all shelter guests through regular checks Facilitate communication between guests and staff, providing clear information about shelter policies and available resources.
