Job Description

Job description: We are seeking a friendly & organized Host/Hostess to join our Lafayette House team! Our hosts are the warm welcome to each and every guest whether on the phone or during their visit. This role requires excellect communitcation skills and a passion for hospitality; as you will be setting the stage for an exceptional dinning experience.
Detailed duties include:
Answer phones and direct calls accordingly. Check reservation book to assure you have all reservations ready. Check with manager to assure you are aware of any private events. Check with kitchen to get daily specials and type them up for guest presentation. Plan out the seating chart and organize the reservations (planning is everything when running an effective host stand). Greets guests, escorts them to their table, and present menus. Make sure the server is aware they have been sat. Keep the guest counts for individual servers so that stations are kept evenly distributed and manageable for each server. Keep in constant contact with the servers and the kitchen to make sure you are not putting them in the weeds… A large part of the night's effectiveness is orchestrated from the host stand. Keep an eye out that the dining areas, entryway, bathrooms, and menus are kept clean throughout operations. Say good-bye to all of the guests. Check to see that everything was wonderful. Not only is the host or hostess the first impression the guest gets when they come to an establishment they are also the last.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, move tables and chairs and lift trays of dishes.

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
