Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a positive first impression that reflects our commitment to hospitality. Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using popular table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring optimal seating flow. Coordinate with the service team to assign tables and monitor wait times, maintaining smooth operations during busy periods. Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, taking reservations and providing accurate information about wait times or special events. Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate effectively with guests regarding their seating status. Support guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and courteously, enhancing overall guest satisfaction. Assist in food safety practices by ensuring cleanliness of the host station and adhering to health regulations. Requirements Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to handle phone calls professionally and courteously. Familiarity with restaurant reservation management and table management systems such as Opentable is highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest needs simultaneously. Basic math skills for handling seating counts and managing waitlist calculations accurately. Knowledge of food safety standards and restaurant operations is a plus. Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that fosters guest loyalty.
