Job Description
Upstream Hospitality Group is an ever-growing hospitality group that has a wide variety of tastes with a common theme holding them all together: creativity, progression, and originality. When going against the current (upstream), you set yourself apart from the rest, and that is what we strive to do in the most positive way. We are looking for a customer-focused Host to join our team! You will welcome guests, seat them in the restaurant and help them enjoy an exceptional dining experience. Who You are You are a natural people person who can quickly build a rapport with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities, you rely on your excellent organization and communication skills to bring your best each day for yourself, the team, and guests. What you'll do Greet every guest with a friendly, upbeat attitude—the TapFam way! Seat guests at tables or in waiting areas, ensuring smooth and fair table rotation for the service team. Provide menus and inform guests of any current specials or promotions. Communicate server assignments so guests know who will be taking care of them. Manage the flow of guests in both dining and bar areas, providing accurate wait times when necessary. Answer the phone and direct calls appropriately. Handle all to-go orders and execute delivery orders promptly and accurately. Keep the host stand and entrance area neat, organized, and welcoming at all times. Be a team player—jump in to assist wherever needed to help the restaurant run smoothly. What We'll Need from you Previous experience as a host or server in a busy restaurant environment is a plus, but not required. A friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for creating great guest experiences. Strong communication skills—you're comfortable greeting guests, answering questions, and providing clear information to both guests and team members. Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Team player mindset—you're quick to lend a hand and keep things running smoothly. Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs when needed. We're proud to attract hospitality-driven talent, from those building long-term careers in the industry to those who simply love the work and want to earn extra income doing what they enjoy.
