Noble Cellar is a new upscale restaurant in Downtown Syracuse serving contemporary American cuisine. Located in a treasured historic landmark, we aim to create a space that fosters connections, strengthens relationships, and helps to build community, while contributing to the vitality of the local culinary scene. Job Description:
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. This role requires warmth, professionalism, and excellent organizational skills. The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, coordinating with the service team, and ensuring smooth flow throughout the dining room. This role participates in the tip pool. The stated wage range represents the anticipated total compensation, inclusive of tips.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests with a friendly, professional, and genuine demeanor. Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant's system. Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and informing servers of new arrivals.

Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the host stand, entryway, and menus. Monitor dining room flow, anticipating seating needs and communicating with servers and management to ensure an even distribution of tables. Answer phones promptly and courteously, assisting with reservations, inquiries, or takeout orders if applicable. Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates and manage expectations. Assist in accommodating special requests, such as dietary needs, large parties, or seating preferences. Support the service team with guest needs as necessary, such as providing water or assisting in resetting tables. Work closely with the kitchen and waitstaff to coordinate table turnovers, manage special requests, and ensure timely service. Assist service team in necessary side work Qualifications Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred but not required.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm, courteous, and organized under pressure. Professional appearance and demeanor. Comfortable using reservation or point-of-sale systems (training provided). Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent guest interaction.
