From $16.50 per hour Job Description Summary Black Bear Diner has been serving Good Old-Fashioned Family Food since 1995. We are a fun, family-friendly restaurant known for our homemade meals, generous portions, and genuine, friendly service. As a Server Support Team member, your primary responsibility is to ensure guests enjoy a warm, positive, and memorable dining experience. Qualities of a Great Host/Cashier Patience Good sense of humor Enthusiastic and friendly Able to remain calm under pressure Strong multitasking abilities Knowledge & Technical Responsibilities Warmly greet all arriving guests and accommodate special seating requests when possible. Seat guests based on preferences and balance guest flow across service sections.
Manage waitlists:
record party names and sizes, provide accurate wait-time estimates, and announce parties when tables are ready. Present menus and ensure tables are clean, complete, and guest-ready. Communicate guest needs or messages to servers as needed. Maintain clean entrance, lobby, dining areas, and restrooms. Support servers by stocking and maintaining service stations. Transport bus tubs to the dish room when needed. Quickly clean and reset tables, including chairs, booths, and surrounding floor areas. Take and enter take-out orders into the POS system. Process payments accurately and close checks efficiently. Thank guests for visiting and invite them to return Complete assigned side work at the beginning and end of each shift. Assist in other areas as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations, as directed by management or supervisors.

Must comply with all company appearance and uniform standards. Work Conditions Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods. Physical Requirements Frequent reaching above chest level and below the waist. Continuous use of both hands for gripping, handling, pushing, and fine-motor tasks. Long periods of standing on hard surfaces. Frequent walking, bending, hip flexion, and general movement. Exposure to hot and cold environments, including walk-in coolers, freezers, and kitchen heat. Ability to stand for long durations. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. Regular bending, squatting, and stooping for cleaning tasks.
