Host/Hostess David's Mai Lai Wah Philadelphia, PA Job Details Part-time $12 - $17 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Basic math Host/hostess experience Numeracy Full Job Description Overview David's Mai Lai wah is one of Philadelphia's oldest Chinese restaurants, and has recently been reopened for dine in! We are looking for a enthusiastic host/hostess that would be the welcoming face of our restaurant! We currently have late night shifts open from 10 PM - 3 AM. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional customer service. Manage restaurant Take out orders efficiently using restaurant POS system Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction, ensuring smooth flow during busy hours. Answer incoming phone calls with proper phone etiquette Maintain organized waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests. Support food safety standards by adhering to cleanliness and hygiene protocols in the host station area. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless guest service and timely seating. Keeping their work station well organized and clean Experience Having the ability to speak Chinese is a major plus Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with restaurant operations. Familiarity with Cash Handling Strong communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and attentive listening, are essential. Experience with restaurant POS systems Basic math skills are necessary for handling seating calculations and managing waitlists accurately. Proven organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests efficiently. Knowledge of hospitality standards, guest relations, and POS systems enhances your ability to excel in this role. A background in food safety practices ensures compliance with health regulations and promotes guest safety. Pay:
