Job Description

OVERVIEW
Creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for clients and guests throughout entirety of clients event. Venue Hosts must have a flexible schedule. Schedule varies on nights, weekends and holidays.
KEY FUNCTIONS
Unlocks and locks venue at the beginning/end of event Arrives one hour prior to client access time to ensure venue and surrounding space is presentable; completes opening and closing procedures (checklist) prior to and after clients arrival/departure Assists with setup of floorplan as needed (tables & chairs) Checks client set up for accuracy (table lay out, linen colors, lighting, etc.) Welcomes guests and vendors; introduces self as point of contact for venue related questions during duration of event Monitors and ensures that event stays within compliance with all rules and regulations identified in clients Contract are understood and followed by client, guests and vendors Answers questions, addresses issues, etc. that may arise before, during and after event Responds appropriately in the event of an emergency situation; notifies on-call staff as necessary Ensures venue remains presentable throughout the event (i.e. restrooms, trash, etc.) Ensures all venues are checked each shift for cleanliness, repairs, etc.; report findings to Venue Sales Manager Ensures clients belongings are removed at end of event; places items left in venue host office; relays information to Venue Sales Manager Assists with light cleanup of venue, including stacking chairs and/or tables, sweeping, etc. Completes post-event checklists and communication Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent customer service and communication skills Knowledgeable of DHEC, ServSafe and SC laws and regulations Practices safe working practices to create a safe work environment Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff Knowledgeable of LSC amenities and facilities Weekend and holiday work required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or/ability required. High School Diploma or equivalent Event experience preferred Must be atleast twenty-one years of age Current CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training; will train ServSafe Alcohol Training preferred: will train
REPORTING TO THIS POSITION
No Supervisory Responsibilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to exert up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects when needed. Most work is sedentary; it may be necessary to remain on feet for extended periods of time. Shift lengths vary but can last up to 12 hours.
