This role manages guest flow, seating, and communication between front- and back-of-house teams while maintaining a clean and organized dining environment. The Host/Hostess supports overall service excellence by assisting with guest inquiries, coordinating takeout orders, and contributing to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere within a premier senior living community. Key Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, ensuring a welcoming and professional first impression. Manage seating assignments efficiently to support smooth service and optimal dining room flow. Maintain comprehensive menu knowledge to answer guest questions and support service accuracy. Keep the host stand and dining room organized, clean, and properly stocked throughout service. Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and leadership to support coordinated service delivery. Answer phone calls, assist with takeout orders, and process requests with accuracy and hospitality. Resolve guest inquiries or concerns promptly in alignment with service standards. Support teammates proactively and contribute to a collaborative, guest-focused environment. Job Requirements Prior experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or customer-facing roles preferred. Strong customer service and guest-relations skills with a friendly, professional demeanor. Knowledge of POS systems (Toast POS preferred) and ability to handle phone etiquette and food order entry. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume service setting. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with front- and back-of-house teams. Working knowledge of food service procedures and basic POS functionality. Ability to stand for long periods and maintain high energy throughout shifts.
