Job Description
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The host (ess) is the first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter. It is the responsibility of the host (ess) to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them. The guests receive their first impression of the service of the restaurant by their exchange with the host(ess).PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring open tables within the establishment.Estimating wait times for guestsMonitoring server rotation book and ensuring accuracyAnswering phone in a polite and respectful manner.
Schedule dining reservations and arrange parties or special services for diners.
Greet guests, escort them to tables, and provide menus.
Moving tables together to accommodate large parties.
Inspect dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and requisition table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
High School or GED preferred.EXPERIENCE

Normal speech, hearing, and vision. Reaching, lifting of 50 pounds (more with assistance). Walking and standing for extended periods of time.SAFETY:
Follow all FGCC safety programs, safety guidelines, policies and procedures. Wear, use and enforce all FGCC personal protection equipment (PPE) as needed on specific jobs and tasks.Be aware of chemical safety and be familiar with all pertinent Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of chemicals which are used in the workplace.
