Non-Exempt Summary:
UMIYA is seeking friendly, professional, and customer-focused Hostesses to join our team. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests by creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a positive dining experience. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are eager to learn. Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude. Manage the waiting list and coordinate guest seating. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus. Answer incoming phone calls and assist with guest inquiries. Coordinate with servers to ensure efficient table rotation. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area. Provide excellent customer service throughout each guest's visit. Assist with other front-of-house duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred but not required. Willingness to learn; training will be provided. Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained within two (2) weeks of employment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, professional, and positive attitude. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Dependable and punctual. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Schedule:
Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.
Compensation:
Pay based on experience.
