ABOUT RETRO APE

Retro Ape is a vintage clothing company specializing in vintage apparel, wholesale, and live sales on Whatnot. We are looking for an energetic, confident, and personable Whatnot Live Host to represent Retro Ape during our live shopping shows. This is a sales and entertainment position. Your job is to keep viewers engaged, showcase the products, create excitement, and drive sales throughout the entire show.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Live Whatnot Shows Host live Whatnot shows for approximately 2 hours per show. Showcase and sell vintage clothing to customers. Clearly describe each item, including brand, size, condition, graphics, and notable details. Keep the show moving at a strong pace. Engage with viewers and answer questions in real time. Build relationships with repeat customers and new viewers. Create an energetic and entertaining live-shopping experience. Encourage bidding and purchases without being overly aggressive. Maintain a professional and positive attitude throughout every show. Follow Retro Ape's pricing, quality, and selling guidelines.

SALES PERFORMANCE

You will be compensated through 10% commission on the sales generated from your shows. Because compensation is directly tied to sales, we are looking for someone who is motivated by performance and understands how to turn viewers into customers. You should constantly be thinking about: How can I keep viewers watching? How can I increase bidding? How can I sell more items? How can I get customers to come back to my next show? How can I make the show more entertaining?

BETWEEN SHOWS

When you are not actively hosting a live show, your time should be focused on activities that help generate future sales, including: Preparing for your upcoming show. Reviewing and organizing your show inventory. Learning the products you will be selling. Engaging with customers and followers. Promoting upcoming shows. Creating short-form content or product teasers. Reviewing previous show performance. Identifying which products and categories performed well. Helping maintain an organized selling area. Assisting with light operational tasks when necessary. This is not a heavy warehouse/sorting position. Your primary responsibility is selling.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Confident and outgoing personality. Comfortable speaking on camera and in front of an audience. Strong communication skills. High-energy and engaging personality. Comfortable talking continuously for extended periods. Strong sales ability. Competitive and motivated by performance. Able to think quickly and improvise. Comfortable interacting with customers in real time. Reliable and punctual. Professional appearance and attitude. Previous Whatnot, live-selling, retail, sales, or social media experience is a plus.

VINTAGE CLOTHING EXPERIENCE

Previous vintage clothing knowledge is helpful but not required. You should be willing to learn: Vintage brands Clothing categories Sizing Garment condition Graphic tees Sportswear Workwear Pricing What makes a piece desirable to buyers We will provide the inventory and help you learn the product. Your job is to sell it.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Our goal is to operate 4 Whatnot shows per day, Monday-Friday, with each show approximately 2 hours.

Hosts are expected to:

Show up prepared and on time. Be ready to go live at their scheduled time. Maintain energy throughout the entire show. Keep the show moving. Provide accurate product information. Treat customers professionally. Work toward consistently increasing sales performance.

COMPENSATION 10

% commission on sales generated from your shows. The more you sell, the more you earn. This position is designed for someone who enjoys sales, competition, entertainment, and working directly with customers.
