Job Description

Event Host:
We are looking for a friendly event host to join our Events and Catering Team. The Event Host will be responsible for supervising servers and kitchen staff, tending to the wedding party's needs, and fulfilling guest requests, while frequently working irregular hours. A top-notch Event Host should be able to stand and walk for extended periods and thrive in fast-paced environments. Ideal candidates are able to engage with people from a variety of backgrounds and maintain professionalism at all times. High event season runs from April-October (approx. 3-6 events per week). Pay starting at $17hr with tips.
Hours:
Weddings are typically Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, but can happen any day of the week except Sunday. An average wedding day can last up to 8-16 hours. This position would be part-time and 5-25 hours during off season, 20-40+ hours during on season
Event Host Job Responsibilities:
Create a positive and memorable experience for clients and guests at the venue. Serve as the point of contact on wedding day. Run ceremonies and ceremony rehearsals. Oversee all aspects of the wedding day from set-up to reset. Ensure cleanliness in and around the venue. Sets-up and breaks down chairs, tables, and buffet areas. Work closely with Event Director to ensure a smooth day of event for the couple Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift. Prepare food for events. Able to work weekdays in the evenings until as late as 1:30am. Other duties as assigned by the Event Director.
Event Host General Qualifications:
You are proficient in Google Drive suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Calendar) You are available on Fridays and Saturdays as well as weekdays You are able to lift 30-50 pounds at a time and can walk ~20,000 steps/day as needed Comfortable working events where alcohol is present You like to arrive at places early and pride yourself on being one step ahead You can take direction without taking offense or issue You thrive in a fast-paced environment You pay attention to detail and are thorough in your work You provide great customer service and can manage guest conflict Ability to work and communicate with a variety of people of different skill levels and varied backgrounds You can supervise staff members and assign tasks as needed Must be able to legally handle alcohol (will not be serving)
