Stracci Pizza is a small business in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, VA serving Roman-style pizza with freshly made cheese and quality ingredients. We are engaging, customer-centric, fast-paced and our goal is to add to our small team of passionate and talented individuals. At Stracci Pizza, we are committed to craftsmanship, seasonal ingredients, and high-quality cooking. We are seeking a skilled Host to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service skills, and experience in the restaurant or food industry. Previous experience is not appreciated, but not required.

Responsibilities :

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Manage reservations before service and update table assignments
• Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or special requests
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the dining experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
• Lead communication with guests regarding special occasions and requests
• Answer phones and assist with guest inquiries regarding reservations, menu pricing, hours of operation, TakeOut orders, and general information,
• Managing the waitlist
• Handle cash transactions and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system
• Maintain an accurate inventory of open and available tables

Qualifications :

• Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or food service environment (not required)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent multitasking abilities
• Demonstrates a passion for hospitality and the guest experience
• Attention to detail and consistency
• Confidence and a smile!
• Awareness and anticipation of guest needs
• Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems is a plus
