Job Description
Overview Become an integral part of the Matchbox team as a Host/Hostess and be the welcoming face of our vibrant restaurant. As a Host , you will create a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring that every guest feels valued and has an exceptional dining experience from the moment they step through our doors. If you have a friendly and outgoing personality, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service, join us and be a part of a dynamic team that brings people together through great food and hospitality. Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and positive attitude, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Manage the waitlist and seating arrangements efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely seating of guests. Provide accurate and helpful information to guests regarding menus, specials, and restaurant policies. Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and lobby area, making a great first impression on guests. Coordinate with the serving staff and kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient flow of guest seating and service. Qualifications Experience in high volume, upscale causal dining or an equivalent service environment preferred. Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and some holidays. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours). Lift and carry up to 20 lbs (e.g., menus, high chairs, booster seats). Reach, bend, and stoop occasionally. Use hands and arms to operate reservation systems and phones. Clear verbal communication skills and ability to interact with guests in a busy environment. Ability to remain calm and composed while multitasking in a fast-pace setting.
