About the
Role:
As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host at Original Skiff sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. This role requires a warm and welcoming demeanor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage reservations and guest flow efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Hospitality:
Greet guests with professionalism and warmth, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Manage reservations, waitlists, and walk-in guests to optimize seating and table flow. Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and informing them of any specials. Maintain a polished and professional appearance, upholding high hospitality standards. Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and seating preferences with attentiveness.
Dining Room Coordination:
Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth service. Monitor table turnover and coordinate seating to maintain an efficient dining experience. Assist with managing large parties and special events. Maintain an organized and clean host stand, entryway, and dining area.
Operational Support & Administration:
Answer phone calls professionally, assisting with reservations and guest inquiries. Process to-go orders accurately and efficiently. Assist in tracking guest preferences for a personalized dining experience. Support front-of-house operations by assisting servers and bartenders as needed.
What We Look For:
Previous experience in a host or hospitality role preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. A friendly, professional, and polished demeanor. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Familiarity with reservation systems (such as OpenTable or Resy) is a plus.
