Host/Hostess

Downriggers is seeking a friendly and outgoing individual to join our team as a Host/Hostess. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere. If you have a passion for hospitality and enjoy working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests with a warm and friendly smile upon arrival
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Assist with seating arrangements to ensure efficient use of dining space
• Manage the waitlist and estimate wait times accurately
• Answer phone calls and assist with reservations or inquiries
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station
• Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
• Assist other team members
• Handle guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary
• Provide excellent customer service by anticipating guest needs and exceeding expectations

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 or older.
• We are looking for candidates that have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, self motivated and have good attention to detail.
• Great attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Open availability and reliable transportation is necessary.
• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
• Excellent phone etiquette and ability to handle high call volumes
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management
