All Statehouse staff work with a teamwork mentality by offering support to all other colleagues in the restaurant. Responsibilities Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following: Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of special catch and soups. Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations. Takes names on a waiting list. Runs the floor plan board. Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables. Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available. Responsible for distribution of parking vouchers and monitoring coat check. Cleans and organizes the host closet. Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area. Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant. Answers phone and takes orders pertaining to room service. Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience. Maintains restrooms throughout shift. Sweeps foyer and front entrance area frequently. Keeps windows and wine wall clean. Maintains and updates the information wall Performs other duties as directed. Hosts are required to use standard restaurant equipment such as point of sale and reservation management computer systems, commercial glassware and plate ware cleaning systems, etc. Their work can require them to move through our kitchen areas.
This position requires evening/weekend work, including Saturday AM or PM availabilty. If you are a student must have availability over the winter break. Physical requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
