Job Description
The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction at the Staybridge Suites Long Beach Airport. This position requires prior experience as a front desk agent and proficiency in using the Opera property management system. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner. Register guests, assign rooms, and provide accurate information about the hotel's amenities and services. Assist guests with checking in and out of the hotel, including handling reservations, issuing room keys, processing payments, and explaining hotel amenities and policies while ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately. Process payments in a timely manner. Manage incoming calls, taking messages, and responding to emails. This may include making reservations, answering inquiries about the hotel, and providing information about rates and availability. Address and resolve any issues guests may have during their stay, such as room preferences, maintenance issues, or noise complaints. Maintain knowledge of hotel policies, rates, and promotions to provide accurate information to guests. Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure guest requests and needs are met. Assist in managing room inventory and reservations to maximize occupancy. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports as required. Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times. Being aware of and following the hotel's policies and procedures regarding safety and security. This may include handling emergency situations or evacuations if necessary. Enrolling guests in the hotel's loyalty program and explaining the benefits. Ensuring returning guests receive recognition and any special benefits to which they are entitled. Encourage guests to provide feedback on their stay and manage any follow-up that may be required based on that feedback. Qualifications Previous experience as a front desk agent in a Staybridge/IHG Hotel is required. Proficiency in using Opera property management system is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry luggage or other items weighing up to 25 pounds. Sit, bend, stoop, and reach regularly during shifts. Clear and audible speech for effective communication. Manual dexterity and ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. Visual acuity to read and interpret written documents, computer screens, and guest identification. Physical Requirements Fine motor skills and dexterity are essential for tasks such as typing, handling paperwork, and utilizing computer systems at the front desk. The Front Desk Agent position typically involves spending approximately 60% of the time standing, 30% walking, and 10% sitting to effectively manage and address guest-related responsibilities within the designated work environment.
