Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Front Desk Agent is responsible for checking guests in and out, taking reservations, assigning rooms and providing information on room rates and services provided all while maintaining a workplace culture of respect and teamwork. Front Desk Agents are the face of Vintage Hotels and have the great responsibility of making a good impression to all guests while ensuring that they are well taken care of at every opportunity.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Front Desk Agent reports directly to the General Manager. The Front Desk Agent works with team members in all departments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Take reservations via phone and in person Work with a multi-line phone system Greet and register guests as they arrive Handle cash and make change Receive and process payment for accommodation Answer guest questions, handle requests and take care of issues that arise Inform guests of local places of interest and provide directions Maintain room inventory Balance guest folios Be familiar with frequent-stay guest programs and special packages Understand the importance of increasing revenue Maintain the appearance of the lobby Handle beverage and/or gift shop sales Prepare items for the day as needed Training of new Front Desk Agents Assist housekeeping as needed Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent customer service skills Ability to be welcoming and courteous to guests, coworkers and vendors Must be organized and able to multitask Ability to remain cheerful under stress Always maintain a professional demeanor and appearance Ability to understand and carry out instructions Good knowledge of the local area and businesses Good communication skills Basic math and reading skills Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills Strong typing / keyboarding skills Strong computer knowledge Ability to memorize a large amount of different, detailed, computer procedures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous related work experience High School Diploma or
GED REQUIRED LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Must pass a criminal background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work requires standing for most of each shift Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Primary worksite is indoors
WORK HOURS AND WAGE
Day and night shifts, weekends and holidays required Hourly position, Non-Exempt $18.00 per hour
