JOB DESCRIPTION- Hotel Desk Agent Summary/Objective The hotel desk agent greets and welcomes guests to the establishment and makes them feel comfortable in their environment. Essential Functions. 1. Greets and welcomes guests. 2. Assigns rooms and keys. (never giving out room number out loud) 3. Maintains room availability. 4. Collects and distributes cash handling for hotel 5. Prepares bills and collects payment for visits. 6. Assists in solving billing discrepancies. 7. Answers inquiries regarding hotel area and services. 8. Secures patrons' valuables in the safe. 9. Provides suggestions of places to visit eat and shop. 10. Answering phone is using correct brand verbiage. 11. Maintains hotel records. 12. Insure the safety of our guest's property assets; never open door for guest's who forgot their key (redirect them back to the front desk) Competencies 1. Customer/Client Focus. 2. Stress Management/Composure. 3. Thoroughness. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to front office manager. Work Environment this job operates in a professional hotel / public environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanner, chip reader (credit card machine) and fax machines. Physical Demands the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work this is a full-time or part time position, regularly requiring long hours and frequent weekend work. Travel some travel needed for brand certification.
