Job Description
Position Summary Registers, assigns rooms to, and checks out property guests in a prompt and courteous manner. Furnishes varied and routine information to guests in courteous and tactful manner. Audits all accounts to ensure they are balanced. Closes out various accounts and transfers, when necessary. Prepares the daily Night Audit Reports. Primary Responsibilities Receives shift instructions and bank from prior shift's supervisory FD staff, and reviews Front Desk log. Counts and verifies bills and coins in bank. Generates current house status and pre-registration report. Checks in guests, establishes credit and assigns rooms according to standard operating procedures. Verifies guest history information, issues guest room key, and answers guest inquiries. Answers switchboard, relaying calls and recording messages. Checks out guests, finalizes folios, collects payments and obtains guest room keys. Resolves customer complaints, recording specific complaint information. Performs all night audit functions and prepares night audit reports. For instance, updates credit card, advance deposit and tax exempt logs. Maintains and cleans immediate work area. Balances bank at end of shift and obtains approval to clock out. Records significant shift information into Front Desk log. Maintains compliance with company policies, practices, procedures, and safety standards. Inspects all conference rooms and common areas each day to ensure security standards are met. Reports in a proper uniform which is cleaned and pressed. Performs wake-up calls at designated times. Ensures that no guests are exceeding the house limit. If so, he/she is to inform the Front Desk supervisor. Washes, dries and folds laundry during their shift according to the Laundry Attendant guidelines. Company Associate Requirements The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work. Associates are required to comply with brand and/or Company uniform and appearance standards, whichever is more specific. Associates are expected to carry out all reasonable requests by Managers/Supervisors, which the Associate is capable of performing. The Company emphasizes a positive, professional team approach and fully expects every associate to perform all duties assigned in that manner.
