Job Summary:
The Hotel Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests from arrival to departure. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently handling reservations, check-ins, check-outs, payments, and guest requests. Front Desk Agents represent the hotel professionally and strive to create a positive guest experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Welcome guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner. Complete guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to guest inquiries. Make, modify, and cancel room reservations. Process payments, authorize credit cards, and balance cash transactions. Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly while maintaining guest satisfaction. Provide information about hotel amenities, local attractions, restaurants, and directions. Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure rooms are guest-ready and maintenance issues are addressed. Maintain accurate guest records using the hotel's Property Management System (PMS). Respond to emergency situations according to hotel policies and procedures. Prepare daily reports, shift paperwork, and cash deposits. Ensure lobby and front desk areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming. Assist with laundry, breakfast, or other operational duties as needed. Follow all hotel brand standards, safety procedures, and company policies. Promote the hotel's loyalty program and upsell room upgrades or additional services when appropriate. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills and ability to learn hotel management software. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, and occasionally climb stairs. Manual dexterity to operate computers, telephones, and office equipment.
