Millwrights work to keep production and support equipment operating safely and efficiently while minimizing equipment downtime. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, maintain, repair, and remove industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and support equipment. Maintain and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, fans, blowers, compressors, and other rotating equipment. Maintain and repair paper machines, winders, stock preparation equipment, and related mill equipment. Perform equipment alignment, including motors, pumps, shafts, couplings, and other rotating equipment. Replace and repair bearings, seals, belts, chains, gears, couplings, and other mechanical components. Perform mechanical repairs involving hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Perform rigging and equipment-moving activities as required. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and other technical information. Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and other maintenance equipment. Assist with equipment installations, modifications, rebuilds, and shutdown maintenance. Complete maintenance work orders and required documentation. Pipe threading of steam, air, and water lines Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow all Company safety policies, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements. Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations as required. Work overtime, weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and call-ins as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience. Previous industrial maintenance or millwright experience preferred. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Knowledge of mechanical equipment, power transmission, pumps, conveyors, and rotating equipment. Welding, fabrication, hydraulic, pneumatic, and rigging experience preferred. Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in awkward positions. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials. Ability to work from ladders, platforms, and elevated areas. Ability to work in confined areas when required. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment. Ability to work in a noisy industrial environment with exposure to heat, dust, water, vibration, and other mill conditions. Working Conditions Millwrights work throughout the paper mill, including production areas, maintenance shops, equipment rooms, and outdoor areas. The position may involve exposure to moving machinery, high noise levels, heat, dust, water, chemicals, and other industrial hazards. The employee is expected to follow all safety rules and procedures and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
