A Hotel Desk Clerk provides service to customers at the front desk of a hotel. Takes room reservations, checks in guests and handles payments; answers questions and arranges for room services requested by customers.
To provide an efficient & friendly atmosphere to service guests. Follow all Company policies & procedures. Job Duties Greeting guests, performing guest transactions, balancing reports, processing reservations & credit cards. Provide quality services for guests including pertinent information about the area. Handle & resolve guest complaints & concerns. Operate a switchboard with courteous & polite manners. Send & receive faxes. Perform laundry duties - sort, wash, dry, fold, & put away. Demonstrate good communication skills. Knowledge of computer equipment. Record information in the daily communications book & shift reports. Work with other departments to ensure room status is up to date & room repairs are done in a timely basis. Restocking the market with items to sell. Promote all marketing programs to the guest. Responsible for accurate cash control to include keeping the cash drawer at a minimum & ensuring that the shift deposits balance. Maintain a neat clean appearance behind the front desk, in the lobby area, pool room, fitness room, game room, & public bathrooms. Operate TDD equipment for hearing impaired guests. Implement all company policies & procedures for safety & security. Responsible for key control. Issues & receives both room keys & master keys. Cleaning guestrooms & lobby area as needed. Restocking the front desk supplies Deliver requested items to a guestroom if needed, such as a playpen, pillows, or linens. Assist in training new front desk staff. Serve drinks in the lounge to guests of age. Check ID's for proper age. Maintain a clean, sanitary bar & table area for the lounge guests. Wash lounge dishes as needed. Follow safe food handling requirements. Property security - walking & checking the stairways, pool room, fitness room, game room, entryways are to be locked except the front door, Lounge, meeting room, & exterior of the property is to be checked each shift. Job Requirements Read, write & speak English. Writing must be legible. Neat, well-groomed appearance. Must have a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, & Holidays. Good communication skills. Pleasant personality & people skills. Perform basic math with & without a calculator. Must be 21 or older. Accountability Maintain high levels of quality, service, & cleanliness. Daily accountability for cash drawer, deposits & guest sales. Experience or Training Required High School education Previous desk experience preferred but not necessary.
