Job Description

Doubletree by Hilton Newark Penn-Station is seeking a Temporary Front Desk Agent. This dual role, working as both front desk agent on necessary shifts and night auditor on necessary shifts is responsible for providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy. The Doubletree by Hilton Newark Penn Station hotel is centrally located in the heart of downtown Newark. Attached to the Newark Penn Train Station, this location provides hotel guest an easy and quick access to the trains, offering a convenient way to explore New York City and the surrounding areas.
Job Responsibilities:
Check guests in and out of the hotel according to hotel standards. Inform guests about the hotel's facilities, policies and procedures. Answer front desk phone. Transfer calls to appropriate departments/guests. Create, modify and cancel guestroom reservations according to hotel standards. Respond to inquiries and requests from guests. Ensure prompt delivery of packages to guests. Perform cashier duties. Post miscellaneous charges to guestrooms. Responsible and accountable for bank and cash-handling Post charges and adjustments to guest accounts as required Review folios, accounts, and charges with guests during the checkout process Run daily reports and logs, identifying and handling any special requests Be able to sell and upsell room categories and hotel amenities Audit, reconcile, consolidate, and transmit all credit cards on a timely basis. Reconcile rate discrepancies and run the night audit process through the PMS Pass on with previous and following shifts Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area
Job Requirements:
Ideal candidate will be required to work all shift as needed: morning shifts, afternoon shifts, overnight shifts, weekends are mandatory, holidays are mandatory. PEP knowledge is required Excellent computer skills including programs such as Word and Excel Have a proactive approach and be willing to assist as needed Prior front desk experience required Able to stand for long periods of time Able to lift 25 lbs.
