9/23/2026 OVERVIEW & POSITION PURPOSE The Gallery Host / Front Desk Agent is a customer-focused role dedicated to providing a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable experience for all hotel guests. The Gallery Host acts as a primary point of contact for guests, supporting the overall guest experience by assisting across the Front Desk, Gallery, breakfast and foodservice areas, Guest Kitchen, and meeting/event spaces. This position combines traditional Front Desk duties with food and beverage service, basic food preparation, public area maintenance, and support for meeting rooms. The Gallery Host must be adaptable, reliable, and comfortable transitioning between responsibilities based on hotel occupancy, guest needs, and daily operational demands.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Front Desk / Guest Services
  • Welcome and greet guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Recognize World of Hyatt members and consistently explain applicable benefits based on membership tier.
  • Assign rooms, issue keys, manage room moves, and verify room status while protecting guest security. Perform guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Process room reservations, modifications, cancellations, payments, and guest accounts.
  • Accurately post room, market, food and beverage, parking, water, and other incidental charges.
  • Verify guest identification and payment information in accordance with hotel procedures.

  • Provide information regarding hotel amenities, services, local attractions, restaurants, transportation, and other guest needs.
  • Be a team member with the flexibility to ensure coverage as needed in shift assignments to meet business needs.
  • Respond to guest concerns promptly and professionally and seek management assistance when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate information in the hotel's property-management system.
  • Promote and support World of the brand membership and benefits.
  • Maintain appropriate cash-handling and financial-control procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Sales, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure guest needs are addressed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming Front Desk and Gallery area.
Gallery / Breakfast
/ Food Service
  • Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately post or collect payment for all food, beverage, and market purchases.
  • Prepare, set up, stock, and maintain the breakfast and Gallery food-service areas.
  • Replenish food, beverages, utensils, plates, cups, condiments, and other supplies throughout service.
  • Prepare basic food items according to established recipes and hotel procedures.
  • Assist with basic cooking and food preparation as assigned.
  • Will be preparing and serving alcoholic beverages in a bar setting
  • Maintain proper food presentation and ensure food-service areas remain attractive and guest-ready.
  • Follow all applicable food-safety, sanitation, temperature-control, storage, and cleaning requirements.
  • Monitor food and beverage inventory and communicate replenishment needs to management. Report shortages, spoilage, breakage, waste, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Guest Kitchen, breakfast area, Gallery, and associated equipment.
  • Assist guests with questions regarding food and beverage offerings.
  • Prepare and serve approved food and beverage items in accordance with property standards. Meeting Room / Banquet Support
  • Assist with the setup and servicing of meeting rooms and small functions.
  • Set up meeting rooms according to the event or guest requirements.
  • Place water, glasses, notepads, pens, and other meeting-room supplies as directed.
  • Ensure meeting rooms are clean, organized, properly stocked, and ready before the scheduled event.
  • Replenish water, supplies, and other approved meeting-room items as needed.
  • Assist with meeting-room breakdown and resetting after events.
  • Communicate with the Sales, Events, or Management team regarding special meeting-room requirements.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to meeting and event guests. General Hotel Operations
  • Maintain the Gallery, lobby, public areas, breakfast areas, and other assigned spaces in a clean, comfortable, and inviting condition.
  • Complete assigned opening, closing, and operational checklists.
  • Monitor supplies and notify management when inventory needs to be replenished.
  • Assist with other Front Office, Food & Beverage, and guest-service functions as operational needs require.
  • Follow brand standards, property policies, safety procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Protect guest privacy and confidential information.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
  • Demonstrate genuine hospitality by anticipating guest needs and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Assist's service team as necessary to meet and exceed guest expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Safety and Security
  • Follow emergency procedures involving fire alarms, medical emergencies, severe weather, power outages, evacuations, suspicious activity, missing persons, and guest disturbances.
  • Monitor entrances, public areas, and unusual activity and promptly report safety or security concerns.
  • Protect guest information by following key-control, payment-card, privacy, and identity-verification procedures.
  • Never announce guest room numbers or provide guest information to unauthorized individuals.
  • Complete required incident reports and immediately notify management of injuries, accidents, threats, suspected trafficking, harassment, or other serious concerns.
  • Follow bloodborne-pathogen, chemical-safety, food-safety, and workplace-injury prevention procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Environmental conditions are inside; a job is considered "inside" if staff spends approximately 75 percent or more of the time inside. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to four (4) hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis. Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. Hearing, smelling, tasting, and visual ability to observe and distinguish product quality and detect signs of emergency situations. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with other staff, guests, and supervisors. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly, and other office equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type and carry out substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands as well.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace. Requires good communication skills, verbal, written and electronic. Considerable knowledge of complex mathematical calculations and computer programs. Must have excellent leadership capability and customer relations skills. Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills. Must possess basic computer skills.

Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy and collect accurate information to resolve conflicts. Knowledgeable about basic function of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system and POS. Self-driven and able to work independently. Exceptionally strong in issue resolution and proven analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
EDUCATION
High school or equivalent education required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
Must obtain and maintain all food-handler, alcohol-awareness, safety, and other certifications required by law, Hyatt, Azul Hospitality, or the property for assigned duties.

All Staff Members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Azul Hospitality standards. Refer to the property specific required grooming and uniform standards policy.
ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Azul Hospitality, from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Staff with irregular attendance / tardiness will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Upon employment, all staff is required to fully comply with Azul Hospitality rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities. Staff members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, staff members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
