Job Description

The Shaw JCC is a community center located in Akron. Our facility offers a family-friendly environment in areas of aquatics, childcare, fitness, and membership. We are looking for a part-time, entry-level Desk Attendant that has a flexible schedule to work daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays . The desk attendant serves as the first point of contact for our members and guests. This position requires someone to be welcoming, professional and courteous so everyone who enters the JCC has an exceptional customer service experience. Responsibilities Greet and assist members and guest in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner. Answer incoming phone calls, provide accurate information, and direct calls to the appropriate staff as needed. Respond to member and guest inquiries regarding programs, services, and procedures; resolve concerns effectively and courteously. Review and manage internal communications, including email. Accurately process program registrations, including handling cash transactions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date member and guest information in the computer system. Ensure all program participants have current and accurate information on file. Qualifications/Experience High school diploma or GED Previous customer service experience preferred, but will train Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills Problem-solving ability and attention to detail Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or veteran status.
