Front Desk Associate 3200 Russell LLC Sioux Falls, SD Job Details Full-time From $16 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Attention to detail Stocking Full Job Description We are seeking a dependable, guest-focused Front Desk & Guest Services Associate to serve as the first point of contact for guests and support daily hotel operations. This role is responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations and check-ins, responding to guest needs, supporting breakfast service, maintaining public-area presentation, assisting with laundry and operational tasks, and helping ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, accurate, calm under pressure, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on hotel setting. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests, complete check-ins and check-outs, verify identification and payment information, issue room keys, and provide clear information about hotel services and policies. Answer phone calls professionally, provide accurate availability and rate information, create and modify reservations, and use a service-minded sales approach to convert qualified inquiries into bookings. Respond promptly to guest questions, requests, concerns, and service issues; document significant matters and escalate issues that require management attention. Maintain accurate reservation, room, payment, guest-note, and shift information in hotel systems. Handle cash, payments, keys, guest information, and assigned front-desk controls according to hotel procedures. Support breakfast service on assigned shifts, including setup, stocking, replenishment, cleaning, and safe preparation of approved items when directed. Help maintain a clean and welcoming lobby, front desk, breakfast area, pool area, patio, hallways, public restrooms, and other guest-facing spaces. Complete assigned property walks and report safety, security, cleanliness, maintenance, or guest-conduct concerns promptly. Assist with laundry, linen delivery, minor operational support, and limited maintenance tasks within training and authorization. Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts. Preferred Qualifications Previous hotel, front desk, guest services, retail, call-center, restaurant, or customer-service experience preferred. Friendly, professional communication skills with the ability to remain composed during busy periods or difficult guest interactions. Strong reliability, punctuality, attention to detail, and willingness to take ownership of guest and property needs. Ability to learn hotel systems, reservation procedures, key-programming equipment, identification scanning, email, and basic Microsoft Word and Excel functions. Basic cash-handling, arithmetic, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing responsibilities, and recognize when to involve management. Comfort moving throughout the property, assisting with public-area presentation, breakfast service, laundry, and routine operational tasks. Availability for a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays.
