Job Description

We are currently looking for a Hotel Supervisor to oversee a close-knit team of fun professionals at our Inn and Beach Cottages located in Santa Cruz in mid-town between Capitola Village and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. A unique property that is perfect for a couples, family vacations or business travelers located close to Sunny Cove beach with 15 room/cottages. As a Hotel Supervisor, you'll be responsible for supervising the operational activities of the property and following hotel guidelines to providing excellent customer service, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy. Key responsibilities of a Hotel Supervisor include but not limited to: Performing front desk agent duties such as registration, check out and processing room reservations for guests Process reservations requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone and/or electronically. Manage all staff on property including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly finance and accounting. Supervising procedural aspects of the hotel's front office, staff schedules, timecards. Ensuring guests needs and concerns are responded to in a timely, professional and friendly manner with a focus on service recovery when applicable Oversee all group reservations, special guest requests, and support staff with these matters. Documents and submits work orders to report items that need to be repaired and follow ups with Maintenance accordingly. Monitoring cash handling, credit card totals and deposit slips to ensure accuracy with staff. Control Front Desk Inventory & Rate Management. Confirm all staff are adhering to all safety and security policies and procedures. Assisting with interviewing, training, coaching, and hiring team members. Managing and resolving all guest complaints and compliments in a professional and courteous manner. Maintaining an up to date working knowledge of all property amenities as well as any special events Oversee and manage all other tasks as assigned. Job Requirements The ideal Hotel Supervisor candidate will possess strong communication skills, a clear understanding of guest service in a hotel environment and demonstrate leadership abilities. The minimum qualifications for this position are: One to three years front desk experience in a hotel property of similar size and quality with previous supervisory experience required. Understanding of full-service hotel products and guest services Must be highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner and exhibit good judgment. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and directly with guests and staff members using a positive, clear speaking voice and good listening skills.
