Job Description
Bridge Creek Inn is seeking a hands-on, hospitality-driven Assistant General Manager to help lead the daily operations of our boutique hotel. This is not a desk-only management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the operation, supporting the team, interacting with guests, solving problems, and helping the General Manager maintain a well-run and financially responsible hotel. The Assistant General Manager will serve as the second-in-command of the property and should be capable of running the hotel in the General Manager's absence. The right person is a strong leader with a genuine hospitality mindset, a strong work ethic, good judgment, attention to detail, and the willingness to step in wherever needed. Key ResponsibilitiesHotel Operations Support the General Manager with the overall day-to-day operation of the hotel. Serve as Manager on Duty and lead the property in the General Manager's absence. Maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel and actively support the operation. Ensure Stay Ridgeline standards, policies, and SOPs are consistently followed. Identify operational problems and take ownership of finding solutions. Assist other departments when necessary to ensure a strong guest experience. Front Desk & Guest Experience Help oversee Front Desk operations, scheduling, training, and performance. Ensure reservations, check-ins, check-outs, payments, and guest requests are handled accurately. Coach the Front Desk team on hospitality and service standards. Respond to guest concerns and lead service recovery when necessary. Monitor guest feedback and identify opportunities to improve the guest experience. Work Front Desk shifts when operationally necessary, particularly during slower periods or staffing shortages. Housekeeping & Property Standards Work closely with Housekeeping to ensure guest rooms and public areas consistently meet our cleanliness and presentation standards. Conduct regular room and property inspections. Help coordinate room readiness and communication between Housekeeping and the Front Desk. Identify maintenance issues and ensure they are properly reported and followed through to completion. Maintain high standards for the overall appearance and condition of the property. Team Leadership Help recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, and develop team members. Lead by example and help create a positive, accountable, hospitality-focused culture. Hold team members accountable to expectations while providing the support and training necessary for them to succeed. Help develop future leaders within the hotel. Participate in employee coaching, performance conversations, and corrective action when necessary. Be someone the team can depend on when problems arise. Financial & Business Performance Understand the hotel's budget and help manage operations within established financial goals. Assist with labor management and scheduling based on occupancy and business levels. Monitor operational expenses, purchasing, inventory, and departmental costs. Understand key hotel performance metrics including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, labor cost, and guest satisfaction. Assist the General Manager in identifying opportunities to improve revenue, efficiency, and profitability. Help ensure accurate cash handling, billing, reconciliation, and financial procedures. Work collaboratively with Food & Beverage leadership. Support service standards and the overall guest experience across the property. Assist with operational issues when necessary. Help ensure strong communication between the hotel and restaurant teams. Support the General Manager with overall F&B performance and accountability. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has previous hotel or hospitality management experience. Has experience leading and developing a team. Is comfortable working across Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage operations. Has a strong work ethic and leads by example. Understands that hospitality means stepping in when and where you're needed. Is organized and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities. Has strong communication and problem-solving skills. Is financially responsible and understands that great hospitality and strong business performance go hand in hand. Remains calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations. Is dependable, accountable, and willing to take ownership. Is comfortable working weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on the needs of the hotel. The Person We're Looking For Experience matters, but character and leadership matter just as much. We want someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and takes pride in creating a great experience for guests and team members. Someone who sees something that needs to be done and takes care of it. Someone who can hold people accountable without losing the ability to support and develop them. Someone who understands that no task is beneath them and that leadership starts with setting the example. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to help us continue building a great hotel, a great team, and a culture people are proud to be part of.
