Oaks on the River Resort | Darien, Georgia Full-Time | Management Position Position Summary Oaks on the River Resort is seeking an experienced, professional, and guest-focused Front Office Manager to lead our Front Office operations. The Front Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Front Desk and ensuring an exceptional guest experience from arrival through departure. This position will supervise and develop Front Desk employees, manage scheduling and departmental coverage, maintain operational and service standards, and work closely with hotel leadership and other departments. We are looking for a hands-on manager who is comfortable leading employees while also assisting at the Front Desk when business levels or staffing needs require. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the Front Office and Front Desk. Supervise, train, coach, and provide directions to Front Desk employees and supervisors. Prepare and manage employee schedules to ensure appropriate coverage while controlling labor costs and overtime. Ensure professional, welcoming, and consistent guest service at all times. Monitor arrivals, departures, reservations, room assignments, special requests, VIPs, and group activity. Manage escalated guest concerns and resolve problems promptly and professionally. Ensure Front Desk employees follow proper check-in, check-out, reservation, payment, and guest-account procedures. Maintain accurate cash-handling, credit-card, deposit, and Front Desk accounting procedures. Review Front Desk activity, reports, discrepancies, and outstanding guest-account issues. Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and corrective action when necessary. Establish clear expectations for Front Desk professionalism, appearance, attendance, punctuality, and conduct. Coordinate closely with Housekeeping regarding room status, early arrivals, late checkouts, out-of-order rooms, and other room-related issues. Communicate with Sales regarding groups, room blocks, special arrangements, and upcoming events. Work with Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and other departments to address guest needs and operational issues. Participate in management and departmental meetings and communicate vital information to the Front Desk team. Maintain knowledge of resort services, amenities, packages, promotions, local attractions, and area information. Ensure Front Desk areas remain organized, professional, and guest-ready. Assist at the Front Desk and provide management coverage when necessary. Responsible for membership and the relationship with the members. Oversees the gift shop and is responsible for ordering, restocking, presentation, and inventory. This position currently also oversees the spa, as far as working with the therapists to get treatments scheduled Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager. Qualifications Previous hotel Front Office, Front Desk, or hospitality management experience strongly preferred. Previous supervisory or management experience required. Strong guest service and critical thinking skills. Ability to lead, train, motivate, and hold employees accountable. Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfortable working with hotel property-management systems, reservations, computers, email, and Microsoft Office. Ability to manage confidential guest and employee information appropriately. Ability to remain professional and make sound decisions during challenging guest or employee situations. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential. Schedule Requirements This is a hospitality management position and requires scheduling flexibility. The Front Office Manager must be available to work days , evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require and may be required to assist with coverage during callouts or periods of high occupancy.
