A Hotel Manager manages a hotel, ensures the comfort of guests and manages business practices for the establishment. Handles guest services or supervises front office, cleaning and maintenance staff. May set room rates. Tracks expenses and inspects facilities for cleanliness and quality.
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, high-impact Task Force Starbucks Manager to step into licensed Starbucks outlets within our hotel portfolio. This role requires an operational specialist who understands both the strict brand standards of Starbucks and the unique operational integration required inside a full-service or upper-upscale hotel environment. You will enter property-level outlets often during leadership transitions, brand audits, or pre-transition turnarounds to immediately stabilize operations, enforce brand compliance, optimize labor and cost structures, and elevate guest satisfaction scores.
Key Responsibilities Hotel & Brand Alignment:
Bridge the gap between hotel operations and Starbucks licensed store mandates. Ensure the store meets both Starbucks Brand Standard Audits and the hotel's overall guest service and brand metrics.
Store Turnaround:
Conduct operational diagnostics upon arrival to identify bottlenecks, inventory leakage, deployment gaps, and service stalls during morning peak hours.
Starbucks Standards & Audit Readiness:
Enforce strict adherence to beverage build recipes, Starbucks Siren Retail/Licensed Store SOPs, cleanliness protocols, and QASA/ecoSure food safety guidelines. Ensure the store is audit-ready at all times.
Throughput & Speed of Service:
Optimize floor positioning and station routines during peak hotel morning rush (6:00 AM - 11:00 AM) to clear lines efficiently, reduce wait times, and maximize daily revenue.
Cost Management:
Audit store ordering cadence, waste tracking, inventory control, and cash management. Work with the hotel Director of Finance/F&B to align store COGS and labor costs with property budget models.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Coordinate with Hotel Housekeeping, Engineering, and Front Desk teams to streamline store maintenance, room-charge posting/POS interfaces (e.g., Toast, Micros, PMS integrations), and lobby cleanliness.
Team Coaching & Accountability:
Mentor and retain hotel-employed baristas and shift supervisors. Correct operational drift through hands-on coaching, clear daily expectations, and structured training programs.
Transition Hand-Off:
Document all operational changes, implement standard operating checklists, and conduct a structured debrief and hand-off to the incoming permanent manager or property F&B director.
Qualifications & Experience Starbucks Expertise:
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (Store Manager or Assistant Manager) in a Starbucks environment. Licensed Hotel Store experience strongly preferred.
Hospitality Background:
Direct experience working within hotel Food & Beverage operations, with a strong understanding of hotel financial structures, PMS integrations, and hotel guest service benchmarks (e.g., Forbes, AAA, or brand guest satisfaction scores).
Proven Turnaround Skills:
Demonstrated track record of leading interim/task force assignments, resolving brand audit deficiencies, and training newly hired store teams under short deadlines.
Systems Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with Starbucks inventory platforms, deployment matrices, and major hotel POS/PMS interfaces.
Flexibility & Travel:
Fully open to travel (up to 100%) and flexible work shifts starting as early as 5:00 AM, including weekends and holidays based on hotel occupancy patterns.
