Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hotel General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Super8 in Gardner, KS. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional customer service skills, and comprehensive knowledge of hotel management. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the overall profitability of the hotel. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to enhance guest relations and communication across diverse clientele. The Hotel General Manager will be responsible for fostering a welcoming environment that upholds the highest standards of hospitality and operational excellence. Duties Lead and supervise all hotel departments including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance to ensure seamless operations. Oversee guest services to provide an exceptional experience, addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally. Manage hotel revenue through effective pricing strategies, budgeting, and financial planning. Implement and monitor policies related to human resources, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development. Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to promote hotel services and increase occupancy rates. Oversee night audit processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Maintain high standards of guest relations by ensuring staff deliver excellent customer service and adhere to phone etiquette and multi-line phone system protocols. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, health standards, and hotel policies. Develop strategies for improving operational efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, leadership, and professional growth. Qualifications Proven experience in hospitality management or hotel operations with supervising responsibilities. Strong background in revenue management, budgeting, and financial oversight within a resort or hotel setting. Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and guest services excellence. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage human resources effectively. Knowledge of hotel management systems, front desk operations, night audit procedures, and multi-line phone systems. Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are highly preferred to facilitate communication with diverse guests. Excellent communication skills including phone etiquette in a hospitality environment. Experience in hospitality management software is advantageous. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
