Hiring Agency Tourism, Arts, & Heritage Cabinet | Kentucky Department of Parks Location PO Box 790 Cadiz, KY 42211 USA Description How would you like to work on the shores of beautiful Lake Barkley, one of the largest manmade lakes in the country? The Resort Park Assistant Manager fills a key leadership role at one of the largest State Parks in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, with a special emphasis on our food and beverage services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Manage and control the overall guest experience. Motivate staff and help to establish a productive working environment for the park. Assist with training classes regarding safety, security, procedures and service guidelines Directly oversee all aspects of the Food and Beverage operations on the Park including the restaurant operations, catering, adult beverage service, and all temporary and permanent food outlets provided to our guests Maximize food revenues by reviewing status daily. Monitor various budgetary control measures to maintain and exceed daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals Monitor all food and beverage inventories; purchase and work with supervisors to ensure appropriate food inventories within budgetary guidelines and business levels Report regularly to the Resort Park Manager and Business Manager and other designated leadership team members regarding the food and beverage operations and other designated departments. Work hand-in-hand with the Sales department and others to identify and take advantage of new permanent and temporary opportunities to increase revenues while adhering to predetermined budgetary goals. Champions the overall customer service goals for the entire park. Monitors the Net Promoter Scores and other monitoring systems to ensure a quality and high level of satisfaction is provided for all guests of the park. Work closely with all supervisors to look for new opportunities to provide quality guest services. Has a major input in the development and implementation of the annual operations budget with a special emphasis on all Food and Beverage operations for the park. Serves as Manager-on-Duty when Park Manager is not available to ensure all operations meet and exceed guidelines. Possibly including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays. Skills and Expectations include but are not limited to the following: Direct Hotel and high-volume customer service experience preferred. Be incredibly friendly, customer-centric, love to smile and have knowledge of the local area. Strong computer skills and preferred experience with property management or point-of-sale systems. Able to prioritize guest satisfaction in all aspects of park operations to overcome challenges.

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

Must have four years of business administration, public administration or management experience. Substitute

Any combination of the following experience will substitute for the education on a year for year basis: Experience as the general manager or as the food and beverage director of a full-service hotel or resort OR Related experience, which may include serving in hotel management areas, such as: serving as the rooms service manager, front desk manager, housekeeping manager, recreation/activities manager or maintenance manager of a major hotel chain or resort park. Designation as a Certified Hotel Administrator will substitute for one year of the education.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
(AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 20 years and one day of age at time of employment. Must obtain S.T.A.R. (Server Training in Alcohol Regulations) certification from the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control within six months of employment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials. Working Conditions Primarily working throughout the park and on park grounds; will occasionally require office work. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in
KRS 18A.111.
