Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the team at our Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The General Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the hotel, including guest satisfaction, team leadership, financial performance, sales initiatives, property standards, and compliance with Marriott brand requirements. We are looking for a hands-on leader who takes ownership of the property, supports their team, and is committed to delivering an excellent guest experience while driving strong operational results. Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations and ensure the property is operating efficiently and effectively Recruit, train, develop, and lead hotel team members and department leaders Maintain high standards of guest service and promptly address guest concerns Monitor hotel performance, including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, labor costs, expenses, and overall profitability Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, control costs, and improve hotel performance Work closely with sales and revenue management to identify opportunities and maximize occupancy and revenue Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, policies, inspections, and required training Maintain appropriate staffing levels and oversee employee scheduling and labor management Conduct regular property inspections to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and exterior areas are properly maintained Work closely with maintenance and housekeeping teams to address property needs and preventative maintenance Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations Manage vendor relationships and oversee hotel purchasing and operational expenses Review guest feedback and online reviews and implement improvements when necessary Prepare and review operational and financial reports Foster a positive, professional, and accountable work environment Qualifications Previous experience as a Hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager is required Marriott-branded hotel experience preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Knowledge of hotel operations, budgeting, revenue management, and labor management Ability to effectively manage multiple departments and priorities Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Comfortable working in a hands-on leadership role Ability to work a flexible schedule as hotel operations require What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the hotel , leads by example, holds their team accountable, and understands both the guest-service and business sides of hotel operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, results-driven, and capable of building a strong team while maintaining the standards expected of a Marriott-branded property.
Pay:
