For this Operations Manager role, we are seeking hands-on, dynamic hotel managers with a strong Rooms & Food and Beverage Operations background. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to : Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations, with a large focus on Rooms & Food and Beverage operations, while maintaining our AHC Hospitality standards, in addition to Hyatt Place brand standards. We are looking for self-starters with a proven track record of providing exceptional guest service, building teams, meeting budgets, working knowledge of P&L statements, and cost/inventory controls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assure each department is operating under the established standards and policies set forth by AHC Hospitality and the Hyatt Place brand. Ensure optimum performance in the all areas of Hotel operations.Responsibilities will include:
supporting Gallery operations, including Front Desk, E Room, Coffee to Cocktails service, maintaining 'World of Hyatt' loyalty program knowledge (World of Hyatt Champion, training, enrollment goals/contests, etc.), researching and responding to HySat & social media guest reviews, and assisting with Housekeeping/Laundry, Banquets and Events functions, as needed.- Help orient, train and support associates per Hyatt Place Guidelines for Operations
- Interprets company policies and provides a safe working environment
- Follow and Maintain QA specs as well as enforces with staff
- Assist all Departments needing additional support (train and become an expert of all 2nd/3rd shift functions)
- Assist Department Managers in writing reviews for 2nd and 3rd shift staff
- Assist Department Managers in conducting write-ups and enforcing their department policies with staff
- Inspects all areas, especially high guest traffic areas, to ensure our facility is pristine placing work orders with Engineering as needed. Ensure any area that is visible to the guest, is clean, tidy and up to Hyatt standards
- Ensure all Department daily check lists are being completed and are up to date/accurate
- Monitor labor costs for Gallery staff
- Ensuring the quality and level of service that the AGM/General Manager and guests expect is excellent and follows our company standards and policies.
- Assisting Department Managers with conducting Huddles with their teams
- Overnight and Daily MOD shifts for the hotel
- Create and Maintain MOD Scheduling
- Ensure the MOD report is up to date and accurate with the appropriate information
- Ensure the MOD handbook and guidelines is up to date and accurate with the appropriate information
- Ensure that Hyatt HySat as well as Social Media reviews/comments are replied to in an appropriate and timely manner
- Ensure you are available to all staff at all times, even while having time off of work
- Ensure you are responding to guest and staff emails in a timely and appropriate manner
- Actively work with all required Hyatt Place systems for FOH and BOH
- Complete market transactions
- Actively work with Experience GR and other venues in the downtown area, as the Guest Service Manager is the primary concierge contact for these venues and companies
- Responsible for the financial success of Front office and F&B areas.
- Oversee staff scheduling based on business volumes, budgets, and forecasts
- Assist with building orders for F&B supplies.
- Assist with F&B shift coverage and understanding all aspects of kitchen operations.
- Manage and support the meeting and banquet events area with set ups, BEO execution for all events, and scheduling staff for these events.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Answering Emails and checking voicemail
- Maintain guest area cleanliness and overall deep cleaning
- Be active and present in all front of house areas, engaging with our guests/patrons and supporting staff as needed
- Assist the Host Stand with making direct contact with arriving guests
- Updating the MOD manual, when new tasks or rules are implemented
- Attending Department Meetings and Manager Meetings
- Communicating departmental changes to all staff
- Ensure that HySat and Social Media reviews/comments are replied to in an appropriate and timely manner
- Ensure surrounding area events are communicated to all teams
- All daily reports must be filed each day and at the end of each month
- If there is an on call shift, ensure they have been properly communicated to, as to whether they should come to work
- If there is a phase shift, approve of their departure
- Enforce our hotel green policies
- Following Hyatt LRA standards
- Checking staff out and ensuring all of their daily tasks are completed, before they can leave for their scheduled shift
- Check BEO's for updates and changes
- Any other additional responsibilities that may be asked by the AGM/General Manager
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Serve Safe certification and TIPS trained, preferred
- Certified Tourism Ambassador, preferred
- CPR certified, preferred EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum three years related hospitality management experience required.
- 4-year degree preferred.
- 2+ years minimum in the role of Department Manager preferred.
- Previous experience in branded hotels.
- Strong F&B background and strong Rooms background.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before guests and associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to perform addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts or percentages.
- Ability to read and manage profit and loss statements.
- Ability to project forecasts.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
