Job Description

Guest Service Manager About Us:
The Oxbow American Grill is Ridgeland's newest destination for great food and atmosphere. We believe the guest experience starts the second someone walks through the door, and we are looking for a leader to own that first impression and foster a warm, hospitable environment that encourages repeat visits.
The Role:
Join our dynamic team as the Host Lead at The Oxbow, where you will be the welcoming face and organizational cornerstone of our bustling restaurant. As the strategic center of our dining room, you will oversee guest arrivals, direct seating flow to ensure servers and the kitchen aren't overwhelmed, motivate your team, and set high guest service standards through proactive communication and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage waitlists, reservations, and floor mapping during peak volume with professionalism and enthusiasm. Coordinate with front-of-house staff to assign tables efficiently, monitor wait times, and ensure timely table turns. Maintain organized reservation logs, seating charts, and host stations while upholding food safety and cleanliness standards. Train and lead new hosts on greeting standards, courteous phone etiquette, and seating strategies. Set the standard for professional image and guest interaction for the host team. Act as the liaison between the front door, servers, and kitchen/management to control service pacing and guest flow. Handle guest inquiries via phone and in person, managing special requests and VIP accommodations with grace.
Qualifications:
2+ years of host or experience in a full-service restaurant, with demonstrated leadership skills. Experience with digital reservation and table management systems (Toast POS). Strong verbal and written communication skills with friendly customer service, phone etiquette, and organizational skills. Ability to stay calm, organized, and friendly under pressure with basic math proficiency for waitlists and reservations. Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards in a high-volume dining environment.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
