Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on Assistant General Manager to lead the daily operations of our hotel in Southaven, MS. This is the senior leadership position on property, reporting to our regional director. We're looking for a guest-driven leader who executes. Strategy and performance targets are set at the corporate level, so your focus stays where it belongs — on the floor, not the spreadsheet. Cleanliness, friendliness, and accountability are the job. If you believe a spotless room and a genuine welcome are what actually build a hotel's reputation, and you're the kind of manager who walks the property rather than watches from an office, we want to talk to you. Responsibilities Lead daily hotel operations across front office, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and breakfast Deliver on the property's performance goals and operating plan, and report results clearly to corporate leadership Own cleanliness — inspect rooms and public spaces daily, enforce housekeeping standards, and never let a room go out below standard Set the tone for friendly, attentive guest service and hold every team member to it Manage guest satisfaction scores and online reputation, including review response and on-the-spot service recovery Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and coach the property team; address performance issues directly and promptly Manage labor and scheduling within the targets provided Oversee front desk operations, including efficient check-in/check-out and professional phone handling Maintain brand standards and quality assurance inspection readiness Oversee preventive maintenance, inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies Qualifications Experience as an Assistant General Manager, Hotel Manager, Operations Manager, or Front Office Manager Strong background in housekeeping standards and guest service Hands-on property management system experience Proven ability to hold a team accountable while keeping morale high Comfortable working to defined targets and reporting results clearly Excellent communication skills; multilingual abilities are a plus Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on guest satisfaction Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Bilingual candidates and those with strong housekeeping leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
