BASIC PURPOSE
Position is responsible for the overall leadership and oversight of the hotel in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring exceptional guest service and financial sustainability of the operation
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITES
Assume full responsibility for the overall operations of the hotel, complying with all brand and company standards to ensure financial viability and success. This position requires extreme flexibility, and there will often be long hours required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure, and present a professional, caring and objective demeanor at all times Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by employees and guests. Have a clear and working understanding of where the property is from a budgetary and financial standpoint. Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions Have knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures, and communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff. Daily interaction with guests in all public areas, as well as daily interaction with employees, supervisors and managers throughout the hotel Ensure that department and executive-level meetings are occurring on a regular basis, and that clear and honest communication is being maintained in all areas. Be familiar with and comfortable with all necessary reporting in all departments, and hold department managers responsible for these documents Ensure that all brand training is taking place in each department, and maintained as the brand requires Perform daily property walks, room inspections, grounds inspections, and overall building monitoring practices. Is aggressive and proactive in regard to property needs, safety concerns or other potential areas of concern Oversees the annual performance evaluation program for all employees, and provides guidance and input as required Will work closely with, and be responsive to, the corporate-level members of the organization, providing them with information and actions as needed and required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Education:
Degree in Business Management and/or Hospitality Management preferred
Experience:
Experience required by position is from four to five years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s) Number of employees supervised: Directly supervise any/all department managers, with indirect supervision of all employees Travel required: Travel on a daily basis will be minimal, although the General Manager may be called upon to attend trade shows, vendor meetings, conferences, or supplemental training away from their hotel at the direction of the
RVP Hours Required:
Position requires whatever hours are necessary to accomplish the requires tasks, typically in excess of 40 hours weekly.. Must adhere to the time and attendance policies set forth by the company.
Position requires frequent and daily lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying of a variety of hotel equipment
Bending/Kneeling:
Frequent bending and/or kneeling throughout the day may/will be required
Mobility:
Position requires total mobility at all times throughout the hotel.
Continuous Standing/walking:
Position requires the continuous standing and/or walking in varying degrees throughout the day.
Climbing Stairs:
Position may necessitate the frequent use of stairs
Driving:
Limited driving on an occasional basis for supplies, equipment, etc. May be required to assist with shuttle service when needed.
Work Environment:
Position, although primarily focused indoors, may require exterior work and exposure to extreme heat and/or cold. Hearing/Speech/Vision Position requires the employee to be able to clearly communicate with, understand, and respond to direction Must be able to train, mentor, administer discipline to and communicate policies and procedures to the engineering staff Must be able to clearly communicate with guests and coworkers in a professional and articulate manner Must have excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to compose business emails Must be able to visually monitor, read and respond to reports, written requests, and written policies and procedures
Chemicals/Agents:
Position requires exposure to or use of: Water treatments, industrial strength cleaning agents, pool and spa chemicals, degreasers and other assorted and varied cleaning agents
Equipment Operation:
Position requires the frequent use of a variety of standard office and administrative systems, such as computer, phone and copying equipment. This position also includes the knowledge of basic safety functions and operation of fire suppression systems, water systems, and other basic maintenance processes.
Other Considerations:
P ersonal appearance and grooming is key in this position due to the high guest contact nature of this position.

$115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
