General Manager (Hotel) Fairfield Inn & Suites Albuquerque North Fairfield Inn & Suites Albuquerque North is seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-driven Hotel General Manager to lead all aspects of hotel operations. The General Manager is responsible for driving financial performance, revenue growth, exceptional guest satisfaction, associate engagement, asset protection, and Marriott brand compliance. This hands-on leader will create a positive, accountable work environment where team members thrive and guests receive consistently outstanding service. The General Manager reports to the Director of Operations and other senior operations leaders. Key Responsibilities Lead all daily hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, breakfast, sales, and guest services. Deliver budgeted NOI and RevPAR targets through disciplined labor management, expense controls, forecasting, purchasing, and strong flow-through. Participate in revenue-management calls and use pricing, demand, business mix, market conditions, and competitor activity to drive revenue. Review STR reports, financial statements, and hotel performance metrics; create and execute action plans to improve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, and profitability. Assist with annual budget preparation and manage monthly financial performance, variances, utilities, purchasing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash handling, and credit-card controls. Recruit, train, coach, recognize, and retain a high-performing team; develop future leaders and management candidates. Create an environment where associates feel supported, valued, and empowered, while maintaining clear expectations and accountability. Ensure exceptional guest service, resolve guest concerns promptly, and lead effective service-recovery efforts. Respond to 100% of negative guest reviews and at least 60% of positive guest reviews in accordance with company expectations. Partner with sales leadership to drive revenue through RFPs, local account development, outside sales activity, and community relationships. Ensure the hotel is consistently prepared for Marriott QA/BSA evaluations and internal audits; complete corrective-action plans promptly. Maintain Marriott brand standards, room readiness, property appearance, preventative maintenance, deep-clean programs, linen inventories, chemical labeling, and physical-quality standards. Ensure compliance with company policies, required brand training, life-safety requirements, local and state laws, permits, certifications, and operational logs. Lead emergency preparedness, incident reporting, safety training, pool-certification and inspection requirements, and property risk assessments. Protect guest, employee, and company information by enforcing key-control, PCI, fraud-prevention, and data-security practices. Train associates to recognize and report phishing, payment fraud, gift-card scams, and suspicious activity. Ensure incidents are thoroughly documented; preserve evidence, make required leadership, brand, and insurance notifications, and follow through on corrective actions. Maintain a professional, clean, safe, and welcoming environment for every guest and team member. Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage as business needs require. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of hotel General Manager experience, or 5 years of Assistant General Manager experience. Marriott experience preferred. Strong understanding of revenue management, STR reports, forecasting, budgeting, financial statements, NOI, and expense management. Demonstrated ability to improve hotel profitability through thoughtful labor and expense management. Proven success leading hotel teams, developing associates, and creating a positive, high-accountability workplace culture. Strong understanding of guest satisfaction, service recovery, and exceptional customer-service standards. Experience with hotel sales, market analysis, labor management, and brand compliance. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
