Weekend Inn Manager Prairie House Inn | Molalla, Oregon The Prairie House Inn is a locally owned, family-operated six-room historic inn located in Molalla, Oregon. Our Inn is housed in a beautifully restored historic home and offers guests a comfortable, welcoming, and personal alternative to a traditional hotel. We are looking for a dependable, friendly, organized, and hands-on Weekend Inn Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Inn on weekends. This is a position for someone who enjoys hospitality, working with people, staying busy, and having the independence to take ownership of their work. Because we are a small six-room inn, the manager plays an important role in creating a great experience for our guests and keeping everything running smoothly. Schedule Saturday & Sunday are required. We are looking for someone who can consistently commit to working every Saturday and Sunday. Friday availability is a plus, but is not required. If you are available Friday through Sunday, that is great, but we encourage you to apply even if you are only available Saturday and Sunday. Hours may vary somewhat depending on reservations, guest check-ins/check-outs, and the needs of the Inn. Responsibilities Guest & Reservation Management Welcome and assist guests arriving at the Inn Answer phone calls and respond to guest questions Take reservations from guests calling or visiting in person Manage online bookings and reservations Handle guest check-ins and check-outs Assist guests with questions, requests, and needs during their stay Address guest concerns professionally and communicate important issues with ownership Room & Housekeeping Management Coordinate and manage the Inn's room cleaners Create cleaning schedules based on guest check-ins and check-outs Communicate with cleaners regarding rooms that need to be prepared Inspect rooms and common areas to make sure they are clean, comfortable, and ready for guests Handle laundry and linens Clean rooms yourself when needed Restock room and housekeeping supplies Identify maintenance or repair issues and communicate them to ownership Overall Inn Operations Be responsible for the overall operation of the Inn while on duty Keep the Inn clean, organized, welcoming, and running smoothly Monitor the property and address issues as they arise Make sure guests have what they need throughout their stay Handle unexpected situations and use good judgment when making decisions Communicate with ownership regarding important guest, property, or maintenance issues Evening / After-Hours Responsibilities The Inn does not have an on-site employee during the evenings. As part of this position, the Weekend Inn Manager will take the Prairie House Inn work phone with them during the evenings. Most evenings will be quiet, but the manager will be responsible for being available by phone in case a guest needs assistance or an emergency arises at the Inn. Cowboy Coffee Support The Prairie House Inn shares its lower level with our family-owned Cowboy Coffee location. When the Inn is slow, the Inn Manager may help our Cowboy Coffee team with light tasks such as washing dishes, getting supplies from storage, restocking, or helping keep shared areas clean and organized. For someone interested in learning, there may also be an opportunity to learn basic coffee-making and assist behind the counter when needed. This helps support our coffee shop team during busy periods while also providing additional work and variety during slower periods at the Inn. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Can consistently work every Saturday and Sunday Is dependable and responsible Is friendly and comfortable interacting with guests Takes pride in keeping things clean and organized Is comfortable working independently Has good judgment and can handle unexpected situations calmly Can manage multiple tasks and priorities Is comfortable using a computer, phone, email, and online booking systems Is willing to help with housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning when needed Communicates well with guests, cleaners, and coworkers Is willing to jump in and help wherever needed Takes pride in their work and wants to take ownership of the Inn while they are on duty Previous experience in hospitality, inn/hotel management, housekeeping, customer service, restaurant management, or a similar position is preferred but not required . We are more interested in finding someone who is dependable, personable, responsible, hardworking, and willing to learn . About Prairie House Inn The Prairie House Inn is a unique, small, family-owned business. We are not a large hotel or motel. Our Inn consists of only six guest rooms in a historic home, which means the position is personal and hands-on. You will get to know our guests, work directly with our small team, and have a meaningful role in the day-to-day operation of the Inn. Our family also operates the Cowboy Coffee location on the lower level of the building, so this position offers a unique combination of hospitality, guest service, and working with another local family-owned business. Compensation Starting pay is $22 an hour Part-time weekend position.
