Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department in accordance with Myrtle Beach Travel Park Management's vision and standard operating procedures. Our campground is 125 acres with a ½ mile of oceanfront and a 17-acre lake. We host 661 campsites, 148 Mobile Home sites, 309 Annual Lease sites, 8 Bathhouses, 35 villas, 25 RV Travel Trailers, a restaurant, General Store, and reservations/front office. The Maintenance department consists of Housekeeping, Grounds, and Facility Maintenance. The maintenance manager works with each of these departments to maintain the camp-resort, including but not limited to the facilities, equipment, and overall resort appearance. This is a full-time position that manages subordinate staff and reports to the General Manager. Supervisory position responsible for grounds maintenance, safety, preventative maintenance, scheduling, renovation, and repair of the campground. Responsible for all site equipment, vehicles, tools… contractors, vendors, and other agencies as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the supervision of maintenance staff which includes assigning work duties, obtaining materials (pricing), ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner. Interviewing, recommending, and selecting applicants for hire, hiring, training, and evaluating of team members. Scheduling to cover all departments. Participation in weekly team meetings. Develop/Implement a preventative maintenance program on all park equipment and facilities. Assure that maintenance logs for all equipment, facilities and rental units are maintained. Maintain contacts with local contractors to ensure prompt service when needed and so that they are kept aware of the company's safety policies and procedures. Maintain proper storage area for all equipment and chemicals used for park maintenance according to appropriate OSHA standards. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local agencies that regulate resort operations. Assist in the development of any necessary policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all employees, contractors and visitors to the resort. Oversee the cleaning of campsites, cabins, and golf cart between guest rentals. Oversee the maintenance of the camp-resort grounds including but not limited to mowing, weeding, flower beds, cleaning parking areas, roads, and trash removal. Act as liaison with guest. Oversee the curb appeal and maintenance of the community.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma Knowledge in: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry, Experience in managing staff. Basic computer skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written venues. Current certifications in Propane dispensing or willingness to obtain upon hire. OSHA safety training/certifications a plus Good knowledge of building regulations, construction regulations, fire regulations, and health and safety regulations in general. Possess excellent organization and project management skills, leadership skills as well as the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Possess exceptional guest relations skills. Weekend & holiday hours are required. Coordinate with various departments on guest and business needs. Maintain a clean & organized work area.
