The Assistant General Manager primary responsibility is to achieve maximum profitability of the hotel; to develop, train, and motivate their team to provide phenomenal guest experiences while ensuring that the property operates according to Kriya Hotels and franchise standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Human Resources Recruit, train, schedule and motivate staff Evaluate and document employee performance; reward, promote and discipline per Kriya guidelines Assure that Kriya, franchise, federal, state, and local rules and laws requiring training and certification are followed, and manuals, posters, and forms are implemented and adhered to without exception. Respect employee confidentiality. Demonstrate equality and compliance of all employment laws without exception. Responsible and accountable for selection of quality employee development, security and safety. Understand that the employee is the most valuable company asset. Counsel, train and coach hotel team members daily. Delegate responsibilities to best utilize all personnel.
Quality Assurance & Asset Management Quality Assurance:
"Zero defects" driven, quality assurance is inclusive of, but not limited to, the outward appearance and cleanliness of the physical property. QA will be evidenced by employee attitude and overall morale. Maintenance of Quality Standards for proper guestroom cleanliness; maintenance of all facilities, service and employee performance. Promptly investigate guest complaints; respond to guest comments and surveys per policy and procedure Assure protection and safekeeping of all keys. Ensure implementation of key control. Inform Kriya of all significant problems which are of an unusual nature. Accounting & Controls Review daily, all property operating statistics and statements including night audits for accuracy Ensure proper cash controls and other internal controls to protect company assets Review and approve all vendor invoices and packing slips prior to submission Responsible for diligent and timely collection of all direct bill accounts. Critique monthly financial statements and budgets Analyze operations and meet with department heads to review the operations and receive their suggestions Prepare all reports on a timely basis. Analyze and state strategies to improve Sales & Marketing Fully understand Revenue Management concepts Approve rates and rate strategies Assist the sales department in design of annual Sales & Marketing Plan. Give dedicated time to outside sales and relationship maintenance of current clients. General Represent the property and company at appropriate civic affairs Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner; project a positive and professional image of Kriya to the public at all times Implement and enforce all Kriya rules, policies, and procedures
Qualification Standards:
Leadership ability absolutely necessary Education
  • Degree in accounting, business administration, and/or hotel administration preferred. Equivalent hospitality experience accepted. Experience
  • Prior hotel management experience
