Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Front Office Manager to help lead the Front Office operation of a full-service hotel. This position is ideal for a visible leader who enjoys coaching employees, resolving guest concerns, and maintaining an organized, accountable operation. The Assistant Front Office Manager will support daily Front Desk, Night Audit, and Guest Services operations. This leader must be comfortable stepping into the operation, making sound decisions in real time, and ensuring the team has the communication, training, and support necessary to succeed. The successful candidate will balance warm, personalized hospitality with accurate systems, strong financial controls, and dependable follow-through. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support the daily operation of the Front Desk, Night Audit, and Guest Services functions. Maintain a visible presence in the lobby and at the Front Desk and assist the team during busy periods. Review occupancy, arrivals, departures, VIPs, groups, special requests, room status, and known guest concerns. Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate priorities, events, service opportunities, and operational changes. Coach, train, motivate, and support Front Office employees and supervisors. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally and make appropriate service-recovery decisions. Maintain accurate cash handling, credit-card, key, access, shift-report, and documentation controls. Partner closely with Housekeeping and Engineering to resolve room-readiness, maintenance, and room-status concerns. Assist with interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, payroll review, performance conversations, and employee recognition. Monitor guest feedback and operational trends and assist with improvement plans. Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety procedures, emergency practices, and Front Office standards. Serve as Manager on Duty or assist with hotel operations when assigned. Perform other duties as needed to support the successful operation of the hotel. Leadership Expectations The successful candidate will: Lead from the operation and remain connected to the daily guest and employee experience. Take ownership of concerns and follow through until they are resolved. Communicate proactively with hotel leadership and other departments. Remain calm, organized, and solution-focused during high-volume or challenging situations. Balance empathy for guests and employees with clear standards and accountability. Recognize strong performance and address concerns before they affect the operation. Qualifications and Experience Previous Front Office leadership experience in a full-service, lifestyle, luxury, resort, or high-volume hotel is strongly preferred. At least two years of hotel Front Office experience with supervisory or leadership responsibility. Experience with guest service, service recovery, Front Desk procedures, room inventory, cash handling, and daily reports. Working knowledge of hotel property management systems; OPERA Cloud experience is strongly preferred. Strong coaching, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and follow-through skills. Ability to work effectively with employees and guests from a variety of backgrounds. Basic proficiency with email, scheduling, payroll, and hotel operating systems. High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on hotel needs. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to move throughout the lobby, Front Desk, guest floors, public areas, and back-of-house spaces during the workday. Ability to respond actively and promptly during busy operations, guest concerns, and emergency situations. Ability to perform the essential responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Pay:
$49,682.31 - $54,000.00 per year
