Videos Duties Help Supervises and assigns housekeeping staff, establishes work schedules and priorities, and ensures adeque staffing, equipment, merials, and resources to maintain hospital/clinic sanition standards. Inspects hospital areas to ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, infection-control practices, equipment sanition, and timely reporting of needed repairs. Trains and develops housekeeping personnel in routine and advanced cleaning techniques, isolion procedures, contamined-area cleanup, proper handling of soiled linen, and environmental sanition practices. Manages housekeeping operions, including linen inventory and records, cleaning and paper supplies, uniforms, equipment needs, work schedules, leave schedules, requisitions, and improvements to procedures and workflow. Performs personnel management duties, including performance appraisals, addressing complaints and disciplinary issues, recommending personnel actions, approving leave and occasional overtime, reassigning staff during emergencies, and implementing continuous training programs. Background Investigion Requirement:
This position requires the successful completion of a federal background investigion as a condition of employment. A background investigion is a standard process used by the Federal Government to verify an individual's identity, employment history, educion, and other relevant informion to determine suitability for Federal service. BASIC REQUIREMENT

Physical Effort:
Moderely physical effort is required to continuously perform manual cleaning tasks. Position requires walking, standing for long periods, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, reaching, and climbing. There are occasional short periods of more physical effort when moving furniture, cabinets, and lifting items over 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Position works inside with adeque lighting and ventilion. Occasionally works outside when washing windows and when assigned to clinics outside of the main buildings. Will be exposed to some mechanical hazards, moving objects, crowded rooms, and wet slippery floor surfaces. Subject to cuts and bruises when lifting and moving heavy items, and minor shock when working with power machines. Subject to exposure to infectious diseases, danger of falling off stepladders when cleaning high areas, hanging draper or curtains. Educion There are no educion requirements. Additional informion IHS Selectees whose duties and responsibilities require them to work permanently, temporarily, or occasionally in an IHS healthcare facility must comply with the IHS Employee Immunizion Policy reled to vaccine-preventable diseases, consistent with recommendions for healthcare workers. Federal Employees earn annual leave a re (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
