Job Description

Who We Are Western Camps, Inc. is a family-owned company that has been creating meaningful experiences in the Central Valley for over 60 years. From one campus in the Sierra foothills near Sequoia National Park, we run three programs: Wonder Valley Ranch Resort & Conference Center , hosting conferences, retreats, weddings, and special events Wonder Valley Outdoor Education , providing hands-on learning experiences for schools across California River Way Ranch Camp , one of the country's premier overnight summer camps for youth Our core values of flexibility, ownership, integrity, collaboration, and care guide how we work and how we treat each other. About the Role Housekeeping supports all three of our programs, so no two weeks look quite the same. You might prepare guest rooms and a ballroom for a corporate conference one week, turn over dorm-style lodging for a school group the next, and get camp facilities ready for a full summer of campers. The rhythm here is built around groups rather than a steady daily room count. You plan ahead of arrivals and departures, staff to the calendar, and lead your team through the turnovers that matter. If you like owning a schedule, thinking a few days out, and seeing an entire property come together before a group walks in, you will do well here. You will lead a dedicated housekeeping team, and like everyone on this campus, you jump in when it counts. On a heavy turnover day or when the team is short, you are the kind of leader who rolls up their sleeves and works alongside them. What You'll Do Plan daily and weekly housekeeping schedules across the resort, outdoor education, and camp calendars, and adjust staffing as bookings change Assign rooms and spaces each day and lead pre-shift meetings Inspect guest rooms, group lodging, meeting and event spaces, and public areas for cleanliness and readiness Train, coach, and mentor the housekeeping team to meet quality and productivity standards Manage laundry operations, including linens for large group turnovers, and maintain laundry equipment Maintain supply inventory and manage restocking ahead of busy weeks Submit and follow through on maintenance requests and work orders Coordinate room and space readiness with the front office and operations team Ensure adherence to safety, sanitation, guest privacy, and key control procedures Step in alongside the team on cleaning and turnover work when the schedule calls for it Partner with the Operations Manager on staffing, performance, and team development Other duties as assigned What We're Looking For You do not need professional housekeeping experience. We will teach you our standards. What we cannot teach is pride in a job well done and the ability to lead a crew. We would love to hear from you if you have led a team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. That includes restaurant and fast food shift managers, retail and grocery leads, janitorial and custodial supervisors, warehouse leads, and of course hotel, resort, camp, and school housekeeping backgrounds.
Required:
Experience supervising or leading a team, including assigning work, holding people to a standard, and handling issues in the moment Comfortable building and adjusting a schedule, and staffing to a workload that changes week to week Genuine pride in clean, finished work, and satisfaction in seeing a space done right Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. Our housekeeping team is primarily Spanish-speaking, and this role trains, directs, and delivers safety instructions to that team Detail-oriented, with strong time management and problem solving skills Able to lead by example and build a positive team culture Comfortable using basic technology and property systems Able to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, bend, reach, and perform cleaning duties as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and group arrival and departure days Pay & Perks $24.00 to $33.00 per hour, depending on experience Free staff meals each shift Health, dental, and vision insurance for full-time staff 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off Employee discounts on lodging and resort services Beautiful campus with outdoor recreation access Training and development with opportunities for internal mobility and growth Ready to Apply? If you are dependable, take pride in your work, and want to lead a team in a setting where comfort, care, and community come together, we would love to meet you. Apply today. The pay range for this role is: 24 - 33 USD per hour(Western Camps, Inc.)
